DRIFT

Drift (2016) is a dance film that explores figures set against time, choreographed by Lindy Fines.

Drift

DRIFT (2016) evokes figures standing against time, revealed and moved by natural forces. Representing a people buried and sculpted by metaphoric shifting sands, these bodies move within a symbolic topography of physical rituals, enlivened monuments, and two-dimensionality brought to life.

The work was developed during a LiftOff Creative & Project Development Residency at New Dance Alliance in 2015. It premiered at the 2016 Performance Mix Festival at Abrons Art Center, New York City with support by a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant, and had subsequent performances at Socrates Sculpture Park as part of Norte Maar’s Dance at Socrates Residency.
